STUDI CAMUNI

A series of monographs on art, archaeology and history directed and edited by

Emmanuel Anati

The Camonica Valley is home to the major concentration of rock art discovered so far in Europe; here, as elsewhere, the carved figures reveal the history of ancient peoples, the course of their evolution, and their contacts with neighbouring cultures. The early volumes of the series concerned detailed studies of the Camunian civilization and of other cultures in Europe and on other continents, based on the examination of rock art and archaeological finds. The object of this series has now broadened its scopes including other major archaeological and anthropological issues. They are syntheses of monographic themes which concern the reading of the past, introducing innovative concepts into the field of the human sciences.
